RCQ revels in Rivage building awards win

Mackay’s first 12 storey, luxury residential apartment building has been awarded the Residential Buildings (High Rise over 3 storeys) $12 million to $60 million category at the2008 Mackay and Whitsunday Master Builders Housing and Construction Awards held overthe weekend.

Rivage was built by Queensland based construction company RCQ which also took out the 2008 Master Builders Regional Project of the Year at the Sunshine Coast region awards held last month.

RCQ Director and CEO Steve Cole said their success in the Residential Building category forRivage highlighted RCQ’s capability to deliver high-end construction services and support from an industry leading team.

“It is fantastic to be recognised by our industry association and we would like to take thisopportunity to also congratulate all the suppliers and sub-contractors who assisted us indelivering Rivage and setting a benchmark for quality construction services, “Mr Cole said.

“As our first project in Mackay, Rivage presented an opportunity to expand our operations throughout North Queensland and we are proud to bring our experience and knowledge tothis rapidly growing region.

”Completed in May of this year, Rivage is a prestigious 57 apartment, 12 storey residential tower complete with a gymnasium, swimming pool, outdoor BBQ facilities and commercial precinct.

Hot on the heels of the completion of Rivage is the construction of Fusion – a $16 million eight storey luxury residential project appointed to RCQ by developers OKE ONE Pty Ltd.“The arrival of Fusion, along with other luxurious waterfront apartments built along the Pioneer River is the dawning of a new era for the hub of Mackay, ” Mr Cole said.

“It’s exciting to be part of this major revitalisation of the river precinct and we look forward to starting construction early this month.

”Director of OKE ONE Pty Ltd, George Chambers said they had selected RCQ to build Fusion as a result of their extensive track record of success throughout Queensland and project delivery credentials.

“We have been very impressed by the people and the professionalism at RCQ and arepleased they will be working with us on the construction of Fusion Apartments and lookforward to a continuing relationship on other significant local projects,” Mr Chambers said.

Mr Cole has also announced RCQ plan to set up a permanent office in Mackay, in the verybuilding they have been recognised for.“

I’m pleased to announce RCQ will have a permanent presence in Mackay. Along withFusion, there are a number of exciting opportunities in the Mackay region and we lookforward to setting up an office in the Rivage building in the coming months.
