No conFUSION about it: New era for construction in Mackay
RCQ, the builders of Mackay’s first award winning residential high rise on the Pioneer River, Rivage, have been appointed by developers OKE ONE Pty Ltd to construct Fusion – 28 luxury apartments superbly located on the south bank of the river.
RCQ Project Manager Scott Bishton and OKE ONE Pty Ltd Director George Chambers visited the site to oversee excavation works as construction starts to heat up on the $16 million eight-storey project, with completion expected by September 2009.
Director and CEO of RCQ, Steve Cole, said the company was proud to be part of the future of Mackay with the opportunity to build the absolute riverfront luxury apartments.
“The arrival of Fusion, along with other luxurious waterfront apartments built along the Pioneer River is the dawning of a new era for the hub of Mackay,” Mr Cole said.
“We’ve really enjoyed our association with Mackay during the construction of Rivage and we are so pleased to have been given the opportunity to stay on and continue to play a part in the major revitalisation of the river precinct with George and the team at OKE ONE Pty Ltd.”
Director of OKE ONE Pty Ltd, George Chambers said they had selected RCQ to build Fusion as a result of their extensive track record of success throughout Queensland and project delivery credentials.
“We have been very impressed by the people and the professionalism at RCQ and are pleased they will be working with us on the construction of Fusion Apartments and look forward to a continuing relationship on other significant local projects,” Mr Chambers said.
To be constructed on an exceptional riverfront site immediately adjacent to the new community water park, Fusion offers three bedroom apartments, garden apartments, penthouses with roof top terraces and Mackay’s first ever double basement for a residential building.
Fusion will join a growing list of award winning developments built by RCQ including Crowne Plaza Pelican Waters Golf Resort & Spa, the m1 building, Elandra Settlers Cove and Waterline all located on the Sunshine Coast, Rivage in Mackay and The Australian Hotel in Townsville.
