Pub Refurbishment
The Metropole Pub was first built in 1886 making it an iconic building for the Townsville community full of local history. In commencing a total structural refurbishment internally it was important to retain the building’s heritage features and character including the bull nose verandah, balcony and decorative cast iron balustrades. By retaining these features, RCQ will provide the client with a brand new pub interior to keep up with the modern requirements of running a business whilst keeping the building’s old world charm.
New features include an alfresco dining area, tapas bar, sports bar, gaming facilities, restaurant and two functions rooms capable of holding 200 people.
Hotel Accommodation
The 11 storey hotel accommodation tower adjacent to the pub refurbishment consists of 52 dual key (104 single), 5 star hotel accommodation units. The finishes are state-of-the-art and include fully functional kitchens for long term stays, washing and drying facilities, large flat screen televisions and individual balconies for each room.
Onsite car parking for guests, gym facilities and a large swimming pool are some of the other features included in the project.
